Project Overview:
Introducing . . . Café Yungas!

We first mentioned this project in our March/April 2003 newsletter. Today, we have moved from the drawing board to reality.

Café Yungas is a blend of exceptional high-mountain, jungle-grown coffee from the Caranavi region of Bolivia and from other South and Central American countries. This project helps Bolivia (and other countries) by providing new markets for this coffee and returning the net profits to Bolivia.

Normally, we at Viva Bolivia are pleased when a project provides a win-win situation. However, we are particularly excited about Café Yungas because this project allows for the possibility of achieving the ever-illusive triple-win!

  1. Bolivian coffee farmers win by selling more of their coffee and by the added exposure to the market.

  2. Leadership and development projects in Bolivia win by receiving 100% of the net profits from the sale of Café Yungas to churches and organizations.

  3. Your organization wins by selling Café Yungas as a fundraiser and by serving this exceptional coffee!

If you think your church or organization might be interested in serving Café Yungas and/or using it as a fundraiser, please contact us at: cafeyungas@vivabolivia.org for more details.

The above prices are based on buying the coffee in the quantities specified above. Each order of 25 bags or more is custom roasted and you can choose between ground or whole bean and regular or decaf coffee. Our suggested fundraiser price for the 12-ounce bags is no less than $10.00 per bag. As an example, if you organization purchased 150 bags and sold them all for $10.00 each, you could earn $450.00 towards your organization's project. If you sold them for $12 each you would earn $750.00.

Smaller Orders:

Now you can purchase smaller orders of Café Yungas, however for these orders you will have to pay the cost of shipping in addition to the cost of the coffee itself. You can reach us by phone (206.347.7054), fax (815.425.5088) or by email with your questions about placing a smaller order.

Green Beans:

If you are interested in roasting Bolivian coffee beans yourself, please let us know. We can offer green coffee in quantities of 25lbs each. Please call or email for pricing and delivery.
